Is Bluehost a good hosting company? Are they worth it? These are questions that may have popped into your head if you’re considering Bluehost.
In order to help our visitors learn more about Bluehost, in this article we’re going to break down some of the pros and cons about Bluehost, and give our opinion on whether or not we think they’re a good hosting company.
But first, before we get into that, we wanted to mentioned that this page may contain affiliate links, or links to sites that contain affiliate links. In either of those situations, if you click on any link here or click through to another site linked here and then purchase hosting, we may receive compensation in the form of an affiliate payment.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s jump into looking at whether or not Bluehost is a good hosting company!
Bluehost Hosting – Pros and Cons
We think Bluehost is a great web hosting company, but nobody is perfect, and also—no single company is the perfect choice for everyone—and there are some situations where this is the case with Bluehost.
So, let’s take a look at that…
First of all, if you’re looking to host a blog, WordPress site, etc., and are a regular person to even a small business, Bluehost is a great choice. But, if you’re an enterprise corporation, they may not be powerful enough for your needs. Yes, the do sell dedicated servers, but there are better enterprise solutions out there for people who need that kind of massive infrastructure.
But that’s not really what Bluehost is aiming for—they’re really targeted towards the consumer and sometimes small business market, so if you fit into either of those categories, they might be a great option.
Here are some things that we love about Bluehost:
- They are an excellent value with some Bluehost coupons bringing the price down to $2.95/month
- They have US-based telephone support which is awesome
- They have real time chat support
- They have a lot of bonus features
- They have VPS and dedicated server offering if you need something with more power
Bluehost is really one of the most solid hosting companies around when it comes to doing pretty much everything well, and coming in at a decent price. When friends and family want to register a domain name and test out having a blog, Bluehost is generally the first name that pops up for a recommendation!
Obviously there’s no web hosting company that’s perfect, and this includes Bluehost too. They really don’t have any major weaknesses, but here are some things that we’ve noticed:
- Sometimes chat support can be a little bit slow at peak hours
- Their control panel could be laid out a little better
- Sometimes they send silly marketing emails (but you can unsubscribe from these)
And that’s really it when it comes to Bluehost cons. There might be some others that don’t come to mind right now, but like we mentioned earlier, there’s nothing that Bluehost does really poorly, so that’s something to think about because some other hosting companies have big holes in their game, where Bluehost doesn’t really (in our opinion, of course).
We hope that this summary of pros and cons helps to make you a more informed buyer when you’re looking at various web hosts and considering which one to choose. Ultimately, this is a decision that only you can make, so don’t allow yourself to be influenced by ads or opinions—just do your research, and make a decision that fits your budget and needs!
